Existential Dread

Many gifted and 2e folks struggle with identity and existential crises earlier in life and can experience them more often and more intensely.

Connecting those dots early and often can lead to existential depression as early as primary school.

So many of these kids are left holding a lot of big questions inside their little bodies. An “otherness” can quickly feel overwhelming and fixed if there is no model and normalization of this part of their existence.

It’s heavy, y’all. And I’ll be honest, into adulthood, it can still feel heavy. But with support, understanding, awareness, and tools, these cycles and questions can be integrated into our lives in a more manageable way.
